Window Tinting Standards

To be legal Automotive Window Film in Western Australia once the film is applied to the vehicle there must be 35% light transmittance into the vehicle and the film must be less than 10% reflective.

No Window Film is allowed on the front windscreen apart from the top 10% of the window (also referred to as a glare strip) .

When coloured glass is factory fitted to a new vehicle we will use a lighter grade than the darkest legal tint to give an acceptable colour match. This gives the UV reduction and heat reduction benefits of the film that the coloured glass does not deliver.
